Settling In

Well it's a new year and we are beginning to settle into life.  We are all getting used to Emily being back at school and getting back to a school time routine.  We all decided to take the trip to bring Emily back to Auburn, it was a long ride but it was well worth it.   We all got a little emotional on her last night here at home and it made us feel like we needed to get a little more time with her.
I knew that it would be hard bringing her and leaving her the first time but I never expected to miss her as much as I did and I didn't expect it to be so hard the second time.  It does get a little easier each day and I have no problem with the fact that she chose to go away to school, in fact I think it was a very good thing for her.  But it has been a real adjustment.

One of the good things about this situatiion is that I get to spend more one on one time with Grant.  Scott and I have really enjoyed the time we get with Grant especially at dinner each night.  He is really turning into a great and funny young man. Grant is playing indoor soccer and basketball.  The indoor soccer is really fun to watch and he is getting to be a really good defender.  Basketball is a little more hard to watch.  Grant does pretty well (I am his mother and of course I always think he is good) but the team as a whole struggles.  This keeps him active and, if you have not seen him lately you can see that he has grown a few inches and activity is good.  Here are a few pictues of both soccer and basketball.  I have not learned how to take really good pictures of sporting events yet but I am working on it.

Look at my boy blocking out!

Grant is #18

We have a family trip planned for Spring Break in March and Grant is going to go to Auburn for a few days soon to visit Emily so we are looking forward to some family time but for right now we are going to stick to our regular routine and just enjoy the ride!
