O.K. it has taken me two weeks to get this one done - I am still having issues with getting the pictures to download correctly and working on my new e-pad has been a challenge but I am not giving up!!
This blog will begin with our family Spring Break trip to Georgia. Way back when we decided that this year we would take an entire week for vacation, which we have not done for awhile, and we all presented an idea for vacation. Can you imagine our family having a "friendly competition?" Grant had the best presentation, with a very compelling argument for the College World Series. He had statistics and pictures and charts. Unfortunately we were not able to all get away during that time of the year. Emily and I decided that it would be a great time for Disney - but Scott has not had enough time away from it yet, maybe next year. Now Scott, the master of internet surfing and the man who always has a plan, came up with the idea of going when both kids were on Spring Break. We (Scott) looked into several places and came up with the Ritz Carlton Resort at Reynolds Plantation. (Carrie Underwood got married here and we thought we could hang with the rich and famous too).
Our original plan was for Grant to go visit Emily at Auburn and then Scott and I drive up and pick them up and go onto the resort. But now that Emily is home we all left together and enjoyed the 15 hour ride to Greensboro. We were able to convince Scott to stop in Birmingham the first night and then drive the rest of the way the next day. Here we are enjoying the ride.
Here is where I ran into some problems downloading pictures - I had pictures of Emily and I asleep in the back seat so imagine with me - Emily and Jane asleep in the back seat! Can you tell who was most excited about the trip? Scott ended up driving most of the way to Birmingham but we made up for it on the way back to Dallas.
The next day we got up and expected to be in Greensboro by early afternoon. But Scott had a surprise for Emily, he had a stop planned - can you guess what it was??? No not Tuscaloosa, for obvious reasons, and no not a really nice little downtown area where we could walk around and look at antiques... Imagine more what a friend calls Red Neck Mardi Gras...

That's all for now - I will try to get another post done with more pictures of the vacation in a few days. I almost have to have a drink before I start it and that's not a good idea right now.
Hang in there "fans" I will get the hang of this eventually!!!
